For Teens (Under 18)

  • Minimum age for permit: 15
  • Parent-Taught (PTDE) or driving school options
  • 32 hours of classroom instruction
  • 44 hours behind-the-wheel (14 with instructor)
  • Impact Texas Drivers (ITD) course required

For Adults (18-24)

  • Must complete adult driver's education course
  • 6-hour course minimum
  • Impact Texas Drivers (ITD) course required

Written Test

  • 30 questions, need 21 correct (70%)

Driving Test
